RedactSure vs Perforce Delphix: 2026 Comparison & Alternative
Perforce Delphix masks sensitive values in copies delivered outside production, while RedactSure, a Perforce Delphix alternative built for AI agents, tokenizes identifiers on the rendered screen before any model reads it. RedactSure is an alternative way to think about agent browsing security, because it protects sensitive data as it is rendered on a screen, before an agent uses it.

Security teams looking for a Perforce Delphix alternative for AI agents find that the two products answer different questions. Perforce Delphix discovers sensitive data at its sources and masks it in the copies it delivers to development, testing, analytics and AI environments. RedactSure replaces values on the screen of the production application an agent works in, before the model reads it.
This page quotes Perforce's pages and uses one record throughout: a customer account record in a core banking application in production, holding a name, an account number, a tax identification number and recent transactions, opened by an agent working as a service representative would. What Is Render-Layer Tokenization? and Runtime Tokenization vs Data Masking for AI Agents define the approach.
Key findings
- As a Perforce Delphix alternative for agent work, RedactSure replaces values on the rendered screen before any model reads it, so the agent handles the customer as CUST_001 and the real value is released only at an approved destination (What Is Render-Layer Tokenization?).
- What a model receives from a screen is an exposure wherever the source data is stored: "Personal identifiable information (PII) may be disclosed during interactions with the LLM" (OWASP, LLM02, 2025).
- Least privilege governs the agent's actions and credentials, not the screen it reads, so coverage has to begin at the screen of an application the organization never instrumented (What Is Least Exposure?).
- Perforce Delphix's pages place its control in the copy and describe no control over a production screen: "Delphix delivers secure, space-efficient data copies to non-production environments while preserving referential integrity and auditability" (Perforce, Enterprise Data Compliance, 2026).
- Its masking is irreversible: "By replacing real values with realistic, irreversible substitutes, Delphix eliminates privacy risk in your non-production environments without breaking applications or workflows" (Perforce, Technical Guide, 2026).
- For agents, Delphix supplies an inventory rather than a view of a production screen; its gateway will "Give AI agents read-only access to a live inventory of your data environments: virtual databases, sources, and snapshots" (Perforce, Agentic Gateway, 2026).
How do the two compare side by side?
Each row pairs Perforce's own wording with what a governed environment does, then names the check a buyer can run.
| Dimension | Perforce Delphix, per its pages | RedactSure | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where the control sits | "automated discovery, masking, and policy enforcement before data reaches non-production" (Perforce, Technical Guide, 2026) | On the production screen, before any model reads it | Where a value is replaced |
| How coverage starts | A masking job per source; it "Supports all apps and databases including SQL, noSQL, files, mainframe, Salesforce, and more" (Perforce, Continuous Compliance, 2026) | The agent works inside the governed environment; the application is unchanged | How many of the agent's applications are covered on day one |
| What the model receives | Masked or synthetic copies: "Protect data by transforming sensitive data values into synthetic yet fictitious values" (Perforce, Enterprise Data Compliance, 2026) | The screen with consistent tokens, CUST_001, ACCT_001, TIN_001, for the whole run | One production screen, as the model saw it |
| How real values are restored | Not restored: "Delphix irreversibly masks data values with realistic data"; the datasheet adds that "Delphix provides the capability to tokenize data instead of" masking (Perforce, Continuous Compliance, 2026) | At an approved destination, when a named person approves the action | Who authorizes the release, and where it is recorded |
| Who approves an action | A role: "Tag-enabled role-based access controls and integration with authentication systems such as Active Directory and Okta" (Perforce, Enterprise Data Compliance, 2026) | A named person approves every payment, submission and record change | A person's name on the approval, not a role |
| The audit record | Copies delivered "while preserving referential integrity and auditability" (Perforce, Enterprise Data Compliance, 2026) | Every screen as tokens, every action and approval, exported to the customer's SIEM | Whether the record shows what the model saw |
Read down the two middle columns and the object each product governs is different. Perforce Delphix governs the copy, masked or synthesized and delivered outside production. RedactSure governs what an agent reads in production, and its answer to what the model saw is one record of the screen. Delphix masks irreversibly, so the copy holds nothing to restore; in RedactSure's design the real value stays in production and a named person approves the action that releases it.
What does Perforce Delphix protect, and where does it act?
Perforce Delphix is a data automation platform for the environments outside production. Its product page says it will "Unify data delivery, governance, and compliance for agentic software development in one intelligent data automation platform" (Perforce, Trusted Test Data, 2026). The compliance page describes the protection: "Find and mask sensitive data in environments used for development, testing, analytics, and AI," and "Protect data by transforming sensitive data values into synthetic yet fictitious values" (Perforce, Enterprise Data Compliance, 2026).
Each benefit depends on one condition: the data passes through a Delphix masking job and reaches its user as a delivered copy. The masking guide places the control "before data reaches non-production" (Perforce, Technical Guide, 2026). A production application is the source those copies are taken from, and an agent working it reads the live screen, a point the pages reviewed do not describe. That is a limit of the design, not a defect, and it leaves the rendered screen, and what a model reads from it, to a different control. The wider review of 86 AI security and data protection products found the same gap at the market level: 0 of 86 describe giving an agent tokens it can work with in place of the values a screen shows, on documentation read between October 22 and 27, 2026 rather than on tests (How Many AI Security Products Control What an AI Agent Sees?).
What does an agent read when it opens a customer account record?
In development and test, the copy of the customer account record is masked and holds nothing real. The service agent never opens that copy. It signs in to the core banking application in production, as a representative would, and reads the rendered screen: the name, the account number, the tax identification number and the recent transactions, exactly as displayed. No masking job sits in that path, because Delphix "delivers secure, space-efficient data copies to non-production environments" and the production screen is the source of those copies rather than one of them (Perforce, Enterprise Data Compliance, 2026). A computer-use agent working from screenshots takes in everything visible, the fields the task uses and the fields it does not (What Does an AI Agent See in a Screenshot?).
The exposure sits in the model. OWASP's prompt injection entry notes that "Indirect prompt injections occur when an LLM accepts input from external sources, such as websites or files," here a transaction memo, and a model that holds the account number can be steered into repeating it (OWASP, LLM01, 2025). The agent also used the representative's session, so the application's log records the representative and nothing separates the agent's reads from the person's.
Which control fits which work?
Keep Perforce Delphix for
- Development and test copies, where it will "Eliminate sensitive data risks in lower environments without sacrificing speed and quality" (Perforce, Trusted Test Data, 2026).
- Test data for coding agents: "Deliver synthetic data instantly to developers, testers, and AI agents" (Perforce, Test Data Management, 2026).
- Central policy: "Centralize policy enforcement and governance for non-production data across the enterprise" (Perforce, Enterprise Data Compliance, 2026).
Add RedactSure for
- Agents reading screens in applications the organization bought and never instrumented, where the model receives CUST_001 instead of the real value (What Is Render-Layer Tokenization?).
- A named person approving each payment, submission or record change the agent proposes on the record (What Is Supervised Delegation?).
- The record of what the model received on each screen, exported to the customer's SIEM (What Is an AI Control Record?).
Most organizations running agents will need both; the choice is which product protects the screen.
How do you test it on one workflow?
Run the comparison on one real workflow in an afternoon, both vendors present, every answer written down.
Step 1. Pick a workflow the agent will run in production, such as an address change, and choose one screen from it, the customer account record.
Step 2. Ask each vendor to show that screen exactly as the model saw it: for Perforce, which masking job and delivered copy sit between the production application and the agent; for the governed environment, the screen with its tokens.
Step 3. List every application in the workflow and mark each as covered by a Delphix masking job and a delivered copy, or not. An agent in production works the sources, so the uncovered group is usually the whole list.
Step 4. Trace the account number from the token the model handled back to the real value: what released it, when, and whose name is on the approval. Ask what a delivered copy's audit trail records about it.
Step 5. Calculate first-day coverage. If the task list touches five applications and masked copies exist for two, those copies cover none of the screens the agent reads in production. Compare the costs that differ: the masking program per source, and the agent work delayed until it is done.
What does a governed environment change?
A governed environment is a category of control rather than a product feature. The agent works under its own session and identity and sees a different screen from the representative, because values are replaced with consistent tokens before the model reads anything. The customer appears as CUST_001, with ACCT_001 and TIN_001, on every screen of the run. Real values resolve only at approved destinations at the moment of an approved action, a named person approves every payment, submission and record change, and every screen, action and approval is written to a control record that exports to the organization's SIEM.
The control sits at the screen because that is where the content is readable. Island's report on the enterprise browser makes the same point: it "runs policy against decrypted, rendered content inside the browser," content the network layer cannot reach (Island, 2026). What Is Least Exposure? extends least privilege to what the agent receives: a model that only ever saw ACCT_001 cannot be steered into disclosing a number it never held.
What the record shows
The buyer's one question is who decides what the model receives, or whose name is on the release. On the core banking screen, the customer's name, account number and tax identification number become tokens before the model reads them, which is what RedactSure, the Perforce Delphix alternative for agent work, does on this record, releasing the account number only for an approved action and recording what the agent read. Delphix's coverage is the copy, masked irreversibly or synthesized and delivered outside production; its pages describe no control over the production screen an agent works in. The test takes one workflow and one screen: have each vendor show the account record as the model saw it, then trace the account number to the action that released it and the person who approved it.
Methodology and limitations
This page draws on six Perforce pages, two OWASP entries, one Island post and RedactSure research pages. Vendor pages were read between October 21, 2026 and October 23, 2026, and each Sources line carries the date for its page. Vendor statements are quoted in the vendor's wording, and public documentation read in full gives a sound view of where each product applies its control.
Both products are described from documentation; none was tested for this page, no customer of either is described, both change over time, and the page carries its date. RedactSure is deploying now with enterprise and government customers. The record is an illustrative type. Compliance determinations belong to the organization's counsel, assessors and security team; nothing replaces a pilot of one workflow on its own screens.
Frequently asked questions
Does Perforce Delphix protect data an agent sends to an LLM?
Only where the agent works from a delivered copy. Perforce's pages describe masked and synthetic data provided "to developers, testers, and AI agents" outside production, so a coding agent that queries a masked copy never holds a real value. An agent that opens the production application reads the source, where the pages describe no control, so what an LLM receives from that screen is unprotected by the copy.
Does Perforce Delphix cover what an agent reads on a production screen?
Not from the pages reviewed. Delphix places "automated discovery, masking, and policy enforcement before data reaches non-production," and its datasheet describes masking at the sources that feed those copies. The production screen a service agent works is neither a copy nor a masking target, so a control over it has to sit in front of the model, where the rendered page is readable.
Is masking a data copy the same as tokenizing a rendered screen?
No. Masking a copy changes stored values before a lower environment receives them, and on Delphix's pages the substitutes are irreversible and realistic. Tokenizing a rendered screen leaves stored values untouched and replaces what one model receives, with the real value available at an approved destination. A partial mask can stop identifying a record; a consistent token keeps the join without the identifier (How Do Data Masking and AI Tokenization Differ?).
Who approves the agent's action, a role or a person?
A role, on Perforce's pages, which describe "Tag-enabled role-based access controls and integration with authentication systems such as Active Directory and Okta." That decides who may reach a copy and is written in advance. In RedactSure's design a named person approves each payment, submission or record change when the agent proposes it, and the approval carries that person's name. Ask which of the two each product provides.
Will the core banking application's log show that an agent read the record?
Not on its own. When an agent works the application under a representative's session, the application logs the representative, and no masking job is in the path to log anything. Delphix records "referential integrity and auditability" for the copies it delivers, a record of the copy. A record of what the model received on the production screen has to come from the environment the agent worked in; RedactSure's AI Control Record provides that.
What does the Delphix agentic gateway give an agent?
An inventory, on the pages reviewed. The Perforce Agentic Gateway will "bring Perforce and third-party MCPs together through one gateway" and "Give AI agents read-only access to a live inventory of your data environments: virtual databases, sources, and snapshots." That lets a coding agent find and provision a masked copy; the page does not describe masking what the agent reads elsewhere, so a production screen is outside what it covers.
How RedactSure closes the production-screen gap in non-production masking
Masking copies delivered outside production leaves the live core banking screen an agent works exactly as displayed, real account number included. Perforce's masking guide places its control "before data reaches non-production," so the live screen is outside it.
The environment that enforces this is built by RedactSure, an AI agent controls, governance and data protection company.
Before: the agent opens the customer account record under the representative's session, the screen shows the name, the account number, the tax identification number and the transactions, and the model receives all of them. Inside the governed environment: the same screen shows CUST_001, ACCT_001 and TIN_001 with the amounts intact, and the real account number is released to the payment system only when the named representative approves the transfer.
RedactSure is deploying now with enterprise and government customers.
Everyone else controls where data can go. RedactSure controls what the AI can see.
